day 8: leaving japan, going home: last day in japan, and what a trip. thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it: delicious food, captivating scenery, quirky fashion sense. woke feeling better rested than when i’d left the states. i suppose a day spent at a hakone hot spring will do that to you. parted ways with 2 of our friends at tokyo station, reducing our party to 4. we were in tokyo with enough time to do maybe one more thing. so we revisited akihabara. it was a bit warmer this time around, and perhaps as a consequence, a troupe of anime styled maids was out enforce trying to usher a few lonely guys into their cafes. snapped this picture of one in action.previous - winding down at hakone photo notes: tough working with the high contrast at this time of day. to accommodate i was shooting in manual, a few ev less than suggested by the in lens meter to preserve the highlights. at home i used gimp/ufraw to tweak the gamma and levels to achieve an acceptable result.
